Dr. Gerald Fritz Schusser is a distinguished equine internal medicine expert. After earning his veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, Austria, he conducted pioneering research on equine rotavirus, asthma, and colic. At Virginia State University, USA, he studied myenteric plexus neurons and gastric ulceration in racehorses. In 1994, Dr. Schusser became Professor of Equine Internal Medicine at the University of Leipzig, Germany, where he led groundbreaking research on gastric ulcers, renal failure, and equine auditory disorders. Since 2018, he has been a Professor Emeritus and visiting scientist at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.

Antoine F. In 1995, he established the Swiss Foundation for Animals in Law (Tier im Recht) with its public library of over 24,000 books and essays on animals in law and ethics and its database of over 30,000 criminal animal protection cases in Switzerland and headed it until 2007. From then until 2010, he was the worldwide only “Attorney for Animal Protection in Criminal Matters” in the Canton of Zurich elected by the Government Council at the suggestion of animal protection organizations. With his team, he has drafted and is working towards the realization of a draft convention on animal protection and health in the United Nations (www.uncahp.org), and is dedicated, beyond global law, to the creation of formal “animal lawyers” in criminal and administrative proceedings, among other fields in animal law and animal friendly investments.

Dr. Hans Ulrich Graber, Dr. med. vet., is a distinguished veterinary scientist with extensive expertise in mastitis research, bioinformatics, and large animal clinical practice. He is a retired Consultant at Agroscope, where he previously served as Head of Mastitis Research, leading nationally and internationally recognized research programs focused on udder health, dairy cattle diseases, and milk quality. Throughout his career at Agroscope, Dr. Graber made significant contributions to understanding the epidemiology, molecular biology, and control strategies of bovine mastitis, integrating advanced bioinformatic approaches with applied veterinary science. In addition to his research leadership, Dr. Graber has worked as a large animal clinician, translating scientific findings into practical solutions for livestock health and dairy farm management. His interdisciplinary background as a researcher and bioinformatician enabled him to bridge laboratory research, data analysis, and field applications. Dr. Graber continues to contribute to the scientific community through consultancy, collaboration, and mentorship, supporting ongoing advancements in veterinary medicine and animal health research.

Scientific Contributions of Dr. Bruno Kolb (Summary in 150 Words) Dr. Bruno Kolb made a significant early breakthrough in peptide synthesis by using gas chromatography (GC) to determine racemization, later published in a prominent book chapter. Beginning in 1962 at Bodenseewerk Perkin Elmer (Germany), he led the GC applications lab, developing instrumentation and international marketing strategies. His work with students resulted in numerous publications, and he authored a textbook on GC, later translated into Russian and endorsed by the Russian Academy of Sciences. A pioneer in headspace gas chromatography (HS-GC), he developed its applications in food, forensics, medicine, and environmental analysis. His co-authored book, Static Headspace-Gas Chromatography – Theory and Practice (Wiley), remains a standard reference and was recently translated into Chinese (2024). Post-retirement, he mentored students at the Schülerforschungszentrum Überlingen, where his team's project on renewable energy storage won first prize at Germany’s "Jugend forscht" and placed 4th at the 2016 Intel ISEF in the USA.
